Monday morning call I hate to get. Yes, and maybe no. The Homeowner policy usually covers a certain amount for jewelry but it is limited. Most policies only cover $1000 per item for theft and mysterious disappearance. The companies we represent will pay $2500 per item/ $5000 total per loss.

By adding a rider to the policy you may increase the coverage. For $11 per $1000 of value you may schedule jewelry to your Homeowner policy. It would cover losing a stone out of your ring.

Personal Property is generally covered under a Homeowner policy but there are limitations. Jewelry, guns, furs, silverware and business property are some of the items that have limitations. As always, check with you agent if you have any questions.

Be safe,
